Ming Ta has long been supported and nurtured by various partners and international companies. Through these experiences, we have come to deeply appreciate that in order to endure in the diamond industry, credentials and academic or professional background are not what truly matter; the most important qualities are integrity and honesty.

In participating in organisations such as BNI and even Rotary, I came to realise that, much like the yin and yang of Tai Chi, every business association contains both light and shadow. There is white within black, and black within white. Every group or organisation will have both the upright and the unscrupulous. The real question is not whether you encounter good or bad people, but whether you yourself choose to stand on the side of justice or align yourself with wrongdoing. Being a good person is a choice, not an obligation — and it certainly does not mean that a good person must allow themselves to be bullied.

Some individuals may appear to possess impressive credentials and backgrounds, yet use their cunning for misconduct, naively thinking others will not notice. In truth, that is irrelevant — what matters most is a person’s integrity and moral character. Kazuo Inamori once said that the reason a company can continue operating without collapsing is, ultimately, because of a group of honest, kind, and upright employees and managers who safeguard and work for its survival together.

We resolved to take that first brave step forward — like climbing a mountain, advancing towards the peak of the world, one determined step at a time.
